How to Install Simple Screen Recorder on Ubuntu 16.04 or Ubuntu 17.04

Screen Recorders are used for recording device screens. It is quite often used for recording video games, video-demos, and video tutorials.

Install Simple Screen Recorder in Ubuntu, Linux Mint using apt-get

Installing SSR is really easy all you need to follow three steps: Add simple screen recorder official PPA, Update Repository and as a final step install simplescreerecorder

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:maarten-baert/simplescreenrecorder
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install simplescreenrecorder

After installation, you can run simple screen recorder from Unity Dash Menu or by typing simplescreenrecorder in your terminal

sudo apt-get remove simplescreenrecorder

For removing SSR along with its dependent packages you can run

sudo apt-get remove --autoremove simplescreenrecorder

You can also use purge option to remove simplescreenrecorder along with its configuration

sudo apt-get purge simplescreenrecorder

If you want to remove simplescreenrecorder along with its configurations and dependent package configurations, then you can run

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove simplescreenrecorder
